William Spencer

With over nine years of experience in real estate investing and structured finance, William

has deployed over $1 billion across various real estate transactions through equity, tax

credit, and debt investments. William began his career in Structured Finance at Bankers

Trust before transitioning to direct real estate investing at ExchangeRight Real Estate and

Telos Capital. Most recently William spent nearly 4 years at Goldman Sachs where he

deployed more than $700 million in capital through innovative commercial real estate

transactions, leading to the development and acquisition of over 3,000 multifamily units.

As a Principal at Rise Capital Strategic Investments, he continues to lead the sourcing and

closing of multifamily transactions, leveraging his extensive industry experience and

network.

William holds an MBA with distinction from the Tippie School of Business, and a bachelor's

degree in finance from Drake University. William is a CFA Charterholder, passing all three

exams in the highest percentile, and a member of the CFA Society of New York.

Outside of his professional career, William enjoys skiing, hiking, golfing, and is an

accomplished endurance athlete, having competed in track and cross country in the NCAA

Division 1 level and beyond.
