David Fisher

David has been investing in real estate for 25+ years. In that time, he’s held over 5,000 Class B apartment units. His business career started in accounting and tax at KPMG in 1993 and transitioned to investment banking with Wells Fargo and HSBC from 2003-2012. During this time, he led teams that executed large, innovative multi-national financing with an average size of over $500 million per transaction.  

In 2012 he, along with two partners, started ExchangeRight Real Estate from scratch to meet a demand for quality offerings in the 1031 syndicated equity market. ExchangeRight now manages over $6.3 billion of retail and medical assets in 47 states on behalf of over 7,500 investors. Almost all these investors came to ExchangeRight via 1031 exchanges. David and his partners’ other venture – Telos Capital Funds –invests, manages, and develops opportunistic real estate across the US.  

David and his wife, Lisa, built their “forever” home on the Western Shore of Lake Minnetonka and settled there in July of 2021. Their decision for permanency in Minnesota was greatly influenced by all three of their children, who are married to locals. As a family, they all share the desire to uplift and invigorate the communities around them in southern Minnesota and across the country.
